Student Announcement – Do Not Pay for iClicker Access!

For Fall 2024, there are no student fees to use iClicker in your classes. To ensure your iClicker account is properly associated with JHU and you pay no fees, make sure to use your JHED to login. Details below.

The iClicker Student app (formerly known as iClicker REEF Polling system) is an in-class voting system that allows students to user their phones, tablets, or laptop computers to participate in real-time voting during class. The instructions below are for students –  if you are faculty in KSAS/WSE and are interested in using the iClickers in your class, please contact [email protected].

Students – Getting Started

Setting up and using iClicker as a student is easy and only takes a few minutes. First, you need an account. New for Fall 2024, JHU will be using JHED to login to iClicker. If you’re using a phone or tablet to vote, first download the iClicker Student app. You can also login at iclicker.com using a web browser on your laptop computer. You can vote with either your phone or a web browser. Once you have the app, it’s time to login.

APP Login

If you’re new to iClicker, choose “Don’t have an account? Sign Up!”. Search for Johns Hopkins, choose it, and you’ll be taken to your JHED login. Be sure to use the format [email protected] (like Canvas, myJH, etc.). You’re done!

If you already have an account, first sign out of your existing account. Then choose “Sign in through your campus portal” at the bottom. Next, select Johns Hopkins University from the list and login with your JHED. Use the format [email protected]. iClicker will attempt to combine your existing account with  your new JHED-based account.

Web Browser Login

The Web Browser login is very similar to the app login. If you’re new to iClicker, choose “Don’t have an account? Sign Up!”. Search for Johns Hopkins, choose it, and you’ll be taken to your JHED login. Be sure to use the format [email protected] (live Canvas, myJH, etc.). You’re done!

If you already have an account, first sign out of your existing account. Then choose Johns Hopkins University near the bottom where it says “Need to sign in through your campus portal?” Login with your JHED. Use the format [email protected]. iClicker will attempt to combine your existing account with  your new JHED-based account.

This is a quick summary. iClicker has more detailed instructions on their help site: How Students Create an iClicker Account Through a Campus Portal.

After you’ve logged in, search for and add your courses that are using iClicker. You can search by course name, faculty name, or course number.

When you get to class, start the iClicker app or login via a Browser. Click Join to checkin, and then you’re ready to vote!

Subscriptions

For Fall 2024, iClicker student subscriptions are covered centrally by the University. You should not be prompted to pay for iClicker for Johns Hopkins University classes if you follow the instructions on this page.

Troubleshooting

Make sure you are logging in with your JHED account and the iClicker experience should be trouble free.

Are your classes using iClicker Geolocation? If you experience issues with the Geolocation feature, iClicker has published a Geolocation Tip Guide.
